Don't just block ads, understand how you're being monetized by them

Advertising and consumerism are in every aspect of our lives. And when the products you use are free, YOU have become the product. Every tap, swipe, scroll, video watch, eyeball motion, and interaction is measured, compared, cohorted, cloned, and sold every millisecond. Every part of you is dissected to help drive you to where you'll spend your hard earned money and influence others to do the same. Every dopamine rush is priced in. Every like, every send, and every second is calculated by millions of algorithms all for you to give away your most valuable currency: time

Enter Loki

Loki isn't just another ad blocker, it's a calculator that tells you what your value is to an advertiser, to a brand, to a social network. Every interaction is calculated and it provides a value of what your time and attention are to the companies trying to sell you everything all at once. It's time we understood how deep this all goes. And who knows, maybe we're building a way for you to get paid for it.

You'll just have to keep up on what we're doing

Every website you visit is tracking you in some capacity. Even in a post-cookie world, there's hundreds of vectors from which brands, advertisers, data harvesters, and social engineers can use to nudge you in any direction. Advertising is a gigantic black box as wide as it is deep, but maybe it's time we started to dig a bit deeper.

Our browser extension has two modes:

Hide Me and Monetize Me.

Hide Me is your standard ad and tracker blocker. Monetize Me anonymizes your browsing data and runs it through our media value calculation system. It analyzes your web behavior and uses market advertising rates to assign an actual dollar value to your online activity.

Why are we doing this? We believe that every internet user should be informed about what's being used and gathered about them and how it's being used as a commodity in today's attention economy. We believe the more you're aware, the more you'll understand the impact it has on your attention, your time, your emotions, and the types of companies you're supporting - whether you know it or not.

What if we could take that power back?

What if we decide who gets to use our data?

It starts with Loki
